What is the difference between digital marketing and traditional marketing?
Digital marketing is more of data-driven marketing meaning the strategies which are being used are mostly determined by the type of data available.
For example, if more website visitors are using mobile phone, your strategy should be more focused on optimizing your website to remain mobile friendly.
Digital Marketing creates communication between the business and it’s customers or prospective ones. This allows the business to understand the needs of it’s customers and create real value for them.
Information on customer behavior can be collected on websites using cookies to analyze how the visitors are using the website. This allows the business to re-target, customize and personalize specific products or services for the right and relevant audience.
Traditional Marketing is more of a one-way communication where the advertiser just place an advert in a newspaper or roadside billboard banners without any way getting feedback from potential customers. The advertiser is more worried about sending the message to everyone without hearing what the audience has to say about the product.
Data collected from traditional marketing is usually questionable as many argue that it is not reliable.
